Daddy Daughter Day!!!

Today Kathy went to Women's Retreat in Verdugo Pines. This left me (Kyle) and Maggie all to ourselves all day long! What a test! So I had to snap some shots to make sure mommy didn't miss out on all the day's happenings. Enjoy Kath! (:

Waking up from a nice midday nap always gets things started off well. She fell asleep pretty quickly because in the morning we ate breakfast, bought fruit at Vons, went over to Uncle Casey's house, played in Grandpa's truck, led daddy on a wild nature hike through the desert, bird watched, played in the front yard back home when daddy weed-whacked, had a small snack, and then crashed!

Banana's are true friends...along with the Backyardigans of course.

Pretty roses for the kitchen!

Waiting for french fries at McDonald's...

Pounding fries at McDonald's, while keeping her eye on the play place, which turned out to be more for "big kids" ages 3–12. Neither of us were welcome.

But the playground at Lancaster City Park would have us! And thousands of other families with kids because it was such a beautiful Saturday.

Maggie gets a little greedy in her choice for a pumpkin at L and 10th West.

Unfortunately, all the rides and slides and bounce houses were too big for Maggie and too little for daddy. So we settled for a wagon ride, pretending like we were out to pick up some massive pumpkins.

And the classic wheel barrel race never gets old to Maggie.

My favorite picture of her today. LOVE her!

Even though she cried because she couldn't go in the petting zoo (two goats and five chickens), she was happy to take a picture with dad. And dad promised a petting zoo for free!

At grandpa and grandma's! Can you find the goats? Maggie did right away!

Zoe and Maggie are practically best friends now...well, they're getting there.

Uncle Cody did an excellent job reading to Mags, despite her fetish with the dry erase marker you use in this book. Grandma thinks she can handle more than she really can.

Push-up contests are easier when you shed some unnecessary clothing. I just stuck to fully-clothed though.

Tackled.

Hide and seek. I looked forever! Can you see her?

Had to get some branches off the trees in order to feed the goats. Maggie assures me that this tool helps for the bigger branches.

She took a bath back home, we returned to grandpa's for Del Taco, she ate parts of our red burritos, and  she watched USC smash Notre Dame. She tells me she wants to be a kicker for professional football; what should I tell her?

All in all, awesome day. BUT our conclusion is that it is WAY better when mom is around! We missed you, mommy!
